At Altered Visions, we are trying a new approach. Pitches are limited to a maximum of six issues. After those issues are approved and once the series is underway with at least three issues released, you can submit plans for up to six more issues for approval. This is to not only give the site leadership an understanding of where the story is going, but also allow for the storyline to reflect the world in which it operates.
Understanding the site’s cutoff and where books are currently in the site’s continuity are requirements for pitching successfully. We will be working hard to provide a site bible of events to help with this.
Continuity Cutoff:
Altered Visions picks up directly after the end of X of Swords and Empyre. Both are major events that recently wrapped and provide clean breaking points from Marvel continuity.
The Elevator Pitch:
A paragraph or two that describes your title will suffice. Include a brief description of the plot and the direction of the series.
Cast List:
More than simply a list of potential dibs, this section should include a paragraph about each character or major group, their role or function within the series, and how they will be affected by their time in the book. Although the write-ups do not need to be in depth, we expect an explanation of why each character is integral to your series.
Issue Plots:
Submit plot synopses for no more than six issues. Each issue synopsis should be at least a paragraph in length and should describe what happens in the issue in the simplest terms.
